Description

Join the team at 4th Lewisham (1st Hither Green) Scout Group and help run fun and engaging activities for young people aged 8-10.

As a Cubs Team Member, you’ll support weekly sessions, help with games and activities, and encourage young people as they learn new skills and work together as a group.

You’ll be part of a friendly volunteer team helping create a positive and welcoming environment where young people can build confidence, make friends, and enjoy new experiences.

The impact you'll have

Your support will help more young people take part in Scouting and benefit from activities that develop teamwork, confidence, and life skills.

The skills you'll need

You will need to have the following skills in order to participate:

No previous experience is required — just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to get involved.

Full guidance and support will be provided.

4TH LEWISHAM (1ST HITHER GREEN) SCOUT GROUP

Families, children and young people

We are a successful, oversubscribed Scout Group providing opportunities for children aged 4 to 18 years old.

  • Squirrel Scouts; 4 - 6 years They do crafts, games, song and dance

  • Beaver Scouts; 6 - 8 years They do craft, games and introduce teamwork and more outdoor activities

  • Cub Scouts; 8 - 10 years Their programme introduces leadership, teamwork and moves more outdoors doing hikes, camps and overnight stays.

  • Scouts; 10 - 14 years The programme includes lots of outdoor skills, camping and expeditions. They do a wide range of adventurous activity.

  • Explorers; 14 - 18 years Their programme builds on the skills learnt in previous sections and includes lots of outdoor activities, camps and expeditions. They are very successful in their Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.

No experience is needed as full training and guidance is provided throughout.
