Description

Join the team at 4th Lewisham (1st Hither Green) Scout Group and help support fun, engaging activities for young people aged 10–14.

As a Scouts Team Member, you’ll work alongside friendly volunteers to help run weekly sessions, support young people as they learn new skills, and contribute to a positive, welcoming environment.

Activities might include helping with games, outdoor activities, skill-building sessions, and occasional trips or events.

You’ll be part of a supportive team where everyone works together to make Scouts enjoyable and rewarding for young people.

The impact you'll have

Your support will help enable more young people to take part in Scouting, building confidence, friendships, and life skills through fun and adventure.

You will need to have the following skills in order to participate:

No previous experience is required — just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to get involved.

Full guidance and support will be provided.

4TH LEWISHAM (1ST HITHER GREEN) SCOUT GROUP

Families, children and young people

We are a successful, oversubscribed Scout Group providing opportunities for children aged 4 to 18 years old.

  • Squirrel Scouts; 4 - 6 years They do crafts, games, song and dance

  • Beaver Scouts; 6 - 8 years They do craft, games and introduce teamwork and more outdoor activities

  • Cub Scouts; 8 - 10 years Their programme introduces leadership, teamwork and moves more outdoors doing hikes, camps and overnight stays.

  • Scouts; 10 - 14 years The programme includes lots of outdoor skills, camping and expeditions. They do a wide range of adventurous activity.

  • Explorers; 14 - 18 years Their programme builds on the skills learnt in previous sections and includes lots of outdoor activities, camps and expeditions. They are very successful in their Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.

No experience is needed as full training and guidance is provided throughout.
