ARCh Reading Helper

Description

ARCh Reading Helpers go into schools once or twice a week to support children in 1:1 reading sessions. You spend 30 minutes with each child you see, reading books, playing games, and giving the children a safe space to develop their confidence. You see the same children each time you go into school for an academic year, meaning that over time you really see them grow and thrive!

ARCH ASSISTED READING FOR CHILDREN

Education, employment and training

At ARCh Assisted Reading, we believe every child deserves the joy and confidence that comes from reading. Our mission is simple yet powerful; to help children discover their potential through one-on-one reading support, encouragement, and connection. As an ARCh Reading Helper, you're a vital part of a child's journey into reading. You share books, play games and build a positive, nurturing relationship. Each reading session builds more than just reading skills- it builds confidence, resilience and empowers children to feel proud of their successes. Volunteering with ARCh is deeply rewarding and you'll witness real progress from the children you work with. You'll also impact your own wellbeing in a positive way- our volunteers love spending time with the children they read with and tell us they often leave their sessions with a smile on their face!
