Help Friends Of Raynes Park Station With Moving Compost

Description
Note that the session starts at 7pm. The listing shows 6.30pm as this is the meeting time if you are joining the group walk/run beforehand (further details below) and you are welcome to add a walk/run/cycle beforehand from another location and invite others to join you - there's an option under 'Getting There' so feel free to use it.
You will need to have completed the SWR induction training at Raynes Park Station to access the platform. If you have not completed this don't worry as there will be other jobs to do to support Friends of Raynes Park Station during our session.
We will be meeting with Liz (who will be wearing a pink hi-vis SWR jacket) outside Raynes Park station entrance on Approach Road (not the Starbucks side) just before 7.30pm and then head up to platform 3 to sign the SWR visitor register.
The compost will need to be moved from outside the entrance, up the stairs to the platform. Please bring gardening gloves or similar if you have them to help with lifting. Otherwise equipment will be provided including buckets, carrying baskets and a trolley (at top of stairs) to help move the bags (or loose compost if unable to lift 40L sacks) and wheel it down the platform to the flower beds. Note that Friends of Raynes Park volunteers will be on hand to help with carrying and shovelling compost, whilst the Goodgym team can focus on the heavy lifting/moving up the stairs.
If it rains, we will still go ahead as we cannot leave compost outside the station on the pavement.
GROUP WALK/RUN DETAILS: meeting point at 6.30pm is The Leather Bottle, 277 Kingston Road, London SW19 3NW - distance will be 2-3km. There will also be a walk/run back. Please sign up to indicate you will be joining this so we know who to expect.
*Points to note
- There are very strict rules in place about alcohol and drug consumption. If consumption has taken place within the last 12 hours, volunteers are not permitted onto the railway premises.
- Suitable clothing is required e.g. enclosed shoes (no sandals), trousers (no shorts), long sleeves preferred and obviously no high heels, swimwear, dangling jewellery, skate boards, scooters etc.
- Do bring glasses if you wear them, long and short distance in case you have to enter a code to open a door or to see a train coming down the track from a distance. We also ask volunteers to wear their hearing aids.*
