Canine Companion
Description
Becoming a Canine Companion is ideal if you’re looking for a less physically-demanding volunteering role with our dogs. We pride ourselves on the very highest levels of care for our resident dogs. It is essential for them to experience extended human companionship for them to transition into pet life in their forever home, and that’s where you can help! By spending time with our dogs in a relaxed environment, you can get them used to spending time with people so they’re not overwhelmed when they move out of their kennel and into a home.
The skills you'll need
You will need to have the following skills in order to participate:
Required: Able to follow written/verbal instructions (essential) and a willingness to learn. Able to work independently as well as part of a team. Good communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with staff members to provide regular updates and feedback on the progress of individual dogs. A caring, compassionate and respectful attitude towards dogs at all times. Reliability - A commitment to regular attendance is desirable.

Approximately 15-20 walk from bus stop in Garnant, however the walk up a steep hill to the Hillcrest rehoming centre.
