Description

Our superstar Fundraising Champions are the backbone of our community fundraising. As a Fundraising Champion, you will organise fundraising events in your community to raise much-needed funds for the greyhounds and lurchers in our care. Although you’ll be running these events yourself, you won’t be all alone. Our small but dedicated staff team provides direct support and guidance to our Fundraising Champions to make sure they have everything they need to make their events a success.

The skills you'll need

You will need to have the following skills in order to participate:

Required: Passionate about encouraging others to support Greyhound Rescue Wales and the cause of sighthound rescue more broadly. Good written communication skills, with the ability to write in different styles appropriate to format and audience. Confidence in acting as a point of contact and making decisions independently. Ability to organise your own travel accordingly. Organisational skills such as coordinating volunteers, planning ahead, considering risks and liaising with other agencies as required. An enthusiastic and motivated approach, strong social skills, confident with a wide variety of people with an ability to build strong relationships with supporters. You do not require: Experience of charity fundraising. Experience of event planning/coordination (although this always helps!) Experience of using social media in a charity or fundraising environment. Experience of working within the animal welfare/rescue sector. Ability to speak Welsh.
