Dog Fostering - Yorkshire
Description
We need volunteers who can provide a quiet, safe and loving foster home to our dogs whilst they take a break from their training.
As an urgent care dog fosterer you will:
- Look after one of our young dogs on a temporary basis, whilst they take a break from their training; this could be due to medical or behavioural needs.
- Have full support and guidance from our Canine Healthcare Team.
- Have all food, bedding & equipment provided and all medical expenses, grooming & insurance are covered by Hearing Dogs.
We require the following:
- A loving, quiet home with direct access to a safe and secure garden.
- While our dogs can be left alone for up to 4 hours at a time, we do require volunteers who are at home for the majority of the day.
- A driver, with 24 hour access to a vehicle.
- Volunteers who are over 18 and happy to take a dog at short notice.
- To live within our catchment area, 1 hour drive from our training centre in Bielby, East Riding of Yorkshire (YO42 4JP).
This role is not suitable for those with children under the age of 10 living in the home and previous dog-experience is desired.

Rebuild connection, companionship, and confidence through trained hearing dogs, practical and emmotional support services; transforming the lives of people who are deaf or have hearing loss.
The skills you'll need
You will need to have the following skills in order to participate:
Previous experience handling dogs with medical and/or behavioural issues is desired.
