Description

Our speaker volunteers are our local ambassadors who help share the story of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People within their communities. By giving talks to clubs, groups and organisations, you’ll help spread the word about how our dogs change lives. Speakers also play an Important role in inspiring others to support the Charity through donations or volunteering.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver engaging talks to local community groups
  • Generate your own talking opportunities through local networking.
  • Promote volunteer roles and current campaigns

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People rebuild connection, companionship, and confidence through trained hearing dogs, practical and emmotional support services; transforming the lives of people who are deaf or have hearing loss.

The skills you'll need

You will need to have the following skills in order to participate:

What we need

  • Confidence speaking to groups of all sizes
  • Enthusiasm for representing Hearing Dogs and sharing our impact.
  • Ability to store, transport and use a projector or similar equipment (with support if needed)
  • Attend yearly Speaker Update Training, usually held at one of our sites in Saunderton, Bucks or Bileby, East Riding of Yorkshire.
  • Willingness to handle light admin related to your talks.

We will provide training and resources to help you deliver great talks.
