Café Assistant (Monday Close Up)
Description
We're looking for someone to help with the end of day shift. Duties include washing up and using the dishwasher, cleaning tables, sweeping/mopping the floor and helping with the café closing procedure. This position is for the 4 - 6pm shift on Mondays. Applicants from school and college students welcome!

Poynton train station is a 10 minute walk from the café. There are regular trains from Stockport and Manchester. There is also a local bus service

Just-Ice Poynton is a charity ice cream cafe in the Cheshire village of Poynton.
We support survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking by offering them sympathetic employment in a safe and caring environment. Survivors enrol on our 2 year Employability Programme and during this time they learn new skills and gain qualifications. By offering them friendship and patient tutoring, the survivors grow in confidence and learn how to trust again.
At Just-Ice, we believe that helping survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking to become employable brings hope for the future. It helps the survivor to be independent and gives them control of their own freedom, which is hugely empowering!
Just-Ice creates and sells handmade ethical ice cream using natural ingredients. We're tackling the ugly crime of modern slavery with something fun and joyful - ice cream! Our cafe is in the heart of the community and we pride ourselves as being a fun, friendly and safe place for everyone!
Just-Ice relies on a fantastic team of volunteers and we have a wide range of fun and rewarding voluntary roles to choose from. It's a great place to meet people and make new friends whilst knowing you're making a real difference to some of the most disadvantaged people in society. Volunteering with us is also a great way of gaining experience in the hospitality sector and gaining qualifications in food handling and hygiene.
