Volunteer Adviser

Description
Volunteer Advisers required Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
You'll speak with people face-to-face, over the phone, or online to understand their situation and offer compassionate, practical support and advice.
You'll research and provide clear, accurate information, explaining the available options to empower clients to make informed decisions. Whether it's drafting letters, making calls, or connecting them with other organisations, you'll help people take meaningful steps forward.
You'll also record the support you've given so we can measure our impact and improve our services. By spotting patterns in the issues people face, you'll contribute to campaigns that drive positive change both locally and nationally.
The impact you'll have
As a Volunteer Adviser, you'll play a vital role offering guidance, support, and hope to those who need it most.
Whether it's helping someone understand their rights, access essential services, or take the next step forward, your time and compassion can transform lives.
The skills you'll need
You will need to have the following skills in order to participate:
You don't need to be an expert-just someone who's friendly, open-minded, and non-judgmental approach, creating a safe space for people to share their concerns.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for listening effectively and explaining complex information clearly.
You should feel confident using computers and the internet, as much of the role involves online research and digital tools.
A keen ability to find, understand, and interpret information will help you guide clients accurately, and attention to detail to ensure that every piece of advice is reliable and well-documented.
If you want to give back to your community, we'll support you every step of the way.
