Airplay Volunteer Youth Worker (RAF Odiham)
Help children and young people thrive on RAF bases.
As a Volunteer Youth Worker with One YMCA’s RAF Airplay programme, you’ll support fun, safe, and inclusive activities for children and young people from RAF families. Your time will help create welcoming spaces where young people can relax, build confidence, and connect with others.
You’ll be part of a friendly team delivering a range of youth sessions, from games and creative activities to social and personal development projects. No two sessions are the same, and your enthusiasm and support can make a real difference to young lives.
What you’ll do
- Support youth workers to run activities and sessions
- Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
- Engage with young people and encourage participation
- Assist with setting up and packing away sessions
- Be a positive role model for children and young people

The impact you'll have
Airplay is part of the RAF Benevolent fund and run by One YMCA.
We offer youth clubs for 8 to 18-year-olds, along with Ben Clubs designed especially for children aged 5 to 7.
We provide a range of social activities in state-of-the-art facilities with sessions run by our friendly youth workers.
The skills you'll need
You will need to have the following skills in order to participate:
- An interest in working with young people
- A friendly, reliable, and approachable attitude
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to complete training and an enhanced DBS check

Families, children and young people
We provide social housing for single people and support the training and development of young people and residents. We also operate a range of children’s centres and a full-day nursery.
In addition, we deliver community services including health, sports and recreation programmes, along with facilities and meeting spaces for local groups.
