The skills you'll need

You will need to have the following skills in order to participate:

Enjoy meeting people, able to skipper or crew a narrow boat, full training will be given

Directions - public transport

Based at Batchworth Lock, Rickmansworth

Directions - car

Free parking available in several locations nearby

Volunteering is currently open to people in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We're working to expand to other regions and will update GoVo when this changes.

Exciting and informing people about the heritage and present value of the canals around Rickmansworth. We provide captivating education, (via the education programmes, "Learning at the Lock")organise family events at Batchworth Lock, provide amenities at Batchworth so that the canal can be enjoyed by all, and conserve and present the historic working boat, Roger.
