Description

Do you want to provide support to people living with dementia, their carers, family and friends? You can do this by helping us at our activity and support groups.

To support people living with dementia and there families in a club setting

Dementia Volunteers transform the lives of people by supporting and empowering them to live the life they want and stay connected to their communities. This could include helping to set up group sessions, welcoming clients and their carers as well as participating in activity sessions.

As a Dementia Volunteer you will work with people to identify what could improve their life, whilst also enabling them to take positive steps to connect to their community and reduce their isolation. Group activities may comprise of Cognitive Stimulation Therapy for those with mild to moderate dementia and activities such as singing, arts and crafts or hobbies. We also have opportunities available for people with specific skills, so please tell us what your strengths are when we meet.

We will provide all necessary training to help you feel confident and safe when volunteering with us. You'll also gain access to our award winning e-learning site which provides a range of learning materials on a range of topics.
