Volunteer Activity Assistant

Description
Hobbies don’t stop when you move into an OSJCT care home. All of our homes run activity programmes doing everything from bingo to film nights, sing-a-longs to baking, poetry sessions to arm chair exercise classes.
Our Volunteer Activity Assistants are part of our Activities Team, supporting the Activities Co-ordinator to get people involved. Some people need a little encouragement or support to get the most from an activity and that’s where our Volunteer Activity Assistants step up and shine. You’ll also be helping to set up for activities, chatting to residents and getting their ideas for future adventures.
Some of our Volunteer Activity Assistants run their own sessions, for example a book club or a board games afternoon and others just prefer to support our Activity Coordinators to run their planned schedule of activities. Whatever your interest, we'll have something to suit you.
You’ll build up relationships with people so ideally, we’d like a regular commitment of a couple of hours a week. Days and times are flexible; talk to us and we’ll see what suits us both.
