At The Salvation Army we are committed to supporting individuals and families facing financial hardship with practical guidance and compassionate care.

As a Debt Advice Service Support Volunteer, you will help create a welcoming and supportive environment for clients while assisting with important administrative tasks that enable the service to run smoothly and professionally.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that supports people navigating debt and financial difficulty, while gaining valuable administrative experience within a supportive team.

Location: To be agreed with local Debt Advice Service

Time Commitment: Approximately 2 hours per week or fortnight

The impact you'll have

As a Volunteer, you will:

  • Support the smooth delivery of debt advice services
  • Help maintain a confidential and organised office environment
  • Contribute to creating a calm and reassuring space for clients
  • Assist qualified advisers in ensuring accurate records are maintained
  • Play a part in supporting individuals as they take steps toward financial stability

Your reliability and attention to detail will directly support vulnerable people receiving vital advice.

We are looking for volunteers who have:

  • An interest in the work and mission of The Salvation Army
  • The ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Accuracy in recording information
  • Reliability and attention to detail
  • Basic computer literacy

No specialist financial knowledge is required, but professionalism and discretion are essential. You will receive full training and ongoing support from the Debt Advice Team.
