The Salvation Army charity shops help generate vital income to fund services that provide practical support and a positive future for people within the community.

As a Volunteer Charity Shop Assistant, you will support the Charity Shop Manager in the day-to-day running of the shop. You will help create a welcoming environment for customers, assist with sorting and pricing donated goods, and ensure the shop looks its best.

Your role may include talking to customers and making them feel welcome, advising customers as they browse, supporting visual merchandising, operating the till and handling different types of payment, answering customer enquiries, and helping to maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.

Location: Salvation Army Charity Shop, Park Road, Coedpoeth, Wrexham, LL11 3SE

Time Commitment: Around 4 hours per week, flexible within shop operating hours (Monday–Saturday)

The impact you'll have

Charity shops play a key role in funding the work of The Salvation Army within local communities. By volunteering in the shop, you will help maximise income from donated goods and ensure customers have a positive and welcoming experience.

Your support helps the shop run efficiently and professionally, contributing directly to services that assist individuals and families in need. Through your involvement, you will be part of making a tangible difference in the local community.

  • Are able to work well as part of a team
  • Have basic numeracy skills
  • Are friendly, reliable and willing to learn
