Microchip Scanner - West Sussex

ID Check
Self Managed

Description

To enable us to match the details on the rehoming form to the dog looking to be rehomed.

  • For every dog that comes in to us, we ask a volunteer to carry out an assessment. If the assessor does not have a scanner, there may be a need for us to contact someone close to the dog who can pop in and check the microchip number for us. (There is no need for the volunteer to check the details, we can do this once we have the number).
  • It is vital that we have this information to ensure that the person surrendering the dog is the registered keeper and to confirm the dog’s details.

The impact you'll have

We are building a database of microchip scanners to help with identifying and confirming the details of the dogs we have coming in to us for rehoming and for reunification purposes should someone find a stray dog. This will allow us to confirm that we are acting within the law.
