EMBRACING AGE

Mental health and wellbeing

Embracing Age is a Christian charity working towards a world where older people are valued, connected and full of hope, by mobilising trained volunteers and equipping churches to combat loneliness and bring a sense of connection. Our trained volunteers bring joy and meaningful connection to older care home residents through regular befriending visits and other community initiatives, and supporting unpaid carers looking after a loved one on our weekly Carers Connected Zoom gatherings. You can volunteer in a variety of ways, giving as little or as much time as you like, either in one of our regional area projects or from the comfort of your own home across the UK. Whatever role you choose, your support will help bring companionship, hope and joy to older people. As one care home resident said of the handmade cards she receives monthly from a volunteer: I cannot thank you all enough for thinking about me; when I feel alone, I think of you all and I know I'm not alone.
