Description

Join the Aylesbury Rollers Bowls Club as a volunteer and help blind and partially sighted players enjoy this much-loved sport. You don’t need to be an expert — just a friendly, reliable helper who enjoys meeting new people and joining in.

What you will be doing: • Helping to set up the rink before play • Marking matches (indicating to players where their wood has landed in relation to the jack) • Updating scoreboards throughout the match • Assisting with refreshments and creating a sociable atmosphere • Helping pack away at the end of the game • (Optional) Driving members to and from the venue

Where & when? • Indoor: Foxhills, Thursday mornings (Winter) • Outdoor: Hazels Bowls Club, Tuesday mornings (Summer)

The skills you'll need

You will need to have the following skills in order to participate:

• Friendly, reliable, and a team player • Good communicator and willing to get stuck in • No bowls experience required — training will be given • A basic understanding of bowls is a bonus but not essential

This role may require an Enhanced DBS check if combined with driving duties (working with adults at risk).
