About the Role
The Travers Foundation helps young people aged 13-30 across Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Rutland achieve their potential in sport, music and the arts by overcoming financial barriers that can limit progression.
We are looking for volunteer Funding Committee Members to help us review grant applications, assess funding requests and make thoughtful recommendations that ensure our support reaches young people where it can make the greatest difference.
What You'll Do
- Review applications from young people seeking support in sport, music and the arts.
- Help assess whether requests align with our funding criteria and charitable objectives.
- Consider the applicant's development plan, financial need and likely impact.
- Join committee discussions and contribute balanced, fair and constructive views.
- Help ensure funding decisions are transparent, consistent and well documented.

The skills you'll need
You will need to have the following skills in order to participate:

- Grant assessment or charity governance.
- Youth development, sport, music or the arts.
- Finance, education, community work or mentoring.
- Reading applications carefully and making balanced decisions.
- Working constructively as part of a committee.
